City and Hackney Crisis Pathway Services

The Trust and Mind provide three services available 24 hours a day to support residents in The City of London and Hackney available at weekends, bank holidays, and outside office hours.  

The Crisis Pathway Service offers immediate support to people in crisis or distress but also follows up with a range of interventions to help individuals develop ways to cope with difficulties in their lives and find ways help to avoid a crisis.

This is for people of any age who may have long-term psychological issues or who have had a crisis such as a shock, bereavement, relationship issue, etc. They offer confidential expert advice guidance support and referrals to local services if needed.

Service User Network (SUN)
The Service User Network is for people who experience emotional and psychological distress, frequent mood changes, emotional instability, self-harm, and/ or have thoughts of suicide. It is a supportive and therapeutic group for individuals to develop self-help management strategies to prevent future crises. The Network can also support family, friends, and people who support someone with mental health issues.

NHS 111, 'Option 2' in East London
From the 2nd April 2024, you will also be able to call NHS 111 and select 'Option 2' in East London. This will be an additional way to contact crisis services, and will not be replacing the 0800 numbers.

We encourage those known to services to continue contacting them in the ways they had been doing so previously during working hours. Those wishing to contact a mental health professional outside of hours – or those who aren’t previously known to services – should contact 111 and select option 2. Walk-in Crisis Café
The Crisis Cafe is a safe, supportive, and therapeutic place for anyone struggling and not coping with life. It means people do not have to be alone, struggling with upsetting thoughts or worry. This is a great opportunity for local people to meet with professionals in person.

It is open from 6pm-9pm Monday to Friday, and from noon-4pm on Saturday and Sundays. No appointments are required.
