Activities are taking place across the Trust for Alcohol Awareness Week which takes place from 16-22 November.

R3 in Redbridge, Bedfordshire Mental Health and Wellbeing Service and Tower Hamlets Specialist Addition Unit are all holding events to offer guidance and support to individuals who may be seeking help to reduce their intake of alcohol.

Alcohol Awareness Week is a national campaign by Alcohol Concern that aims to raise awareness of alcohol issues and the impact it can have on an individual’s health and communities across the world. The theme of this year’s awareness week is “The impact of alcohol on health and society”.

According to Alcohol Concern there are 1.6 million people living with an alcohol addiction in the UK. Alcohol awareness week is an opportunity for people to reflect on their drinking and seek to make a positive change.

Alcohol Awareness Week in Redbridge

R3 are holding an open day event at Ilford Chambers on 18 November to find out about your local services and more. Attendees will be able to gain a better understanding of alcohol, have access to resources and signposting to other services in the borough.

Throughout Alcohol Awareness Week, the team will be out in Central Bedfordshire and Bedfordshire Borough giving advice and support to the public.

Alcohol Awareness Week in Tower Hamlets

There will be an Alcohol Awareness Film Week including a special Q&A with Mutual Aid representatives. The films are themed around alcohol addiction, which will be followed by information sessions on the effects of alcohol.
