An inspirational service user committed to helping others has been shortlisted for a High Sheriff of Bedfordshire Citizenship Award 2019.
 
Jay Worthington is a service user with Bedfordshire CAMHS and is in the running for the Young Person’s Award in recognition of his tireless contribution to raising awareness of mental health issues, helping with service development and assisting with staff recruitment.
 
Niki Scott, Service User Participation Lead for Bedfordshire and Luton CAMHS, nominated Jay for the award.
 
“We have been so impressed at Bedfordshire CAMHS with his dedication and passion to raising awareness of the issues and struggles that young people face with their emotional and mental wellbeing,” she said.
 
“He has given his time and energy with enthusiasm and professionalism and is always willing to assist and engage with the projects we run.”
 
The winners will be announced at a ceremony hosted by the High Sheriff on Thursday 14 March.
