Dedicated colleagues from Cauldwell Medical Centre in Bedford have been welcomed to the Trust.
East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) is the provider of GP services from the practice from today (April 1, 2020) after the contract was confirmed late in January.
ELFT provides mental health, community health and addictions services in Bedfordshire. GP practice Leighton Road Surgery in Leighton Buzzard also joined ELFT in February.
Chief Executive Dr Navina Evans said: “We are delighted to welcome the Cauldwell team to the Trust.
“Our absolute priority in this moment is to provide them with the stability, resources, help and support they need – both for patient care and for their wellbeing - as we strive together to provide the best healthcare in circumstances none of us have experienced before.
“Beyond the COVID-19 emergency our Cauldwell colleagues and patients will be actively involved in shaping how we provide and improve care.
“The Trust strategy to deliver population health begins with our ability to support primary care to deliver joined up care with support from community, mental health, and voluntary sector partners.”
Dr Evans added the Trust is proud to increasingly support primary care.
The Trust replaces Virgin Care as provider of services at Cauldwell.
