ELFT chief executive Dr Navina Evans has thanked staff who ensured services to patients were kept up and running during the cyber-attack on NHS and other organisations around the world.

The Trust closed down its computer systems late on Friday afternoon as a precaution and to install a security patch to protect machines and information.

ELFT computers are now back up and running, and Dr Evans said: "I’m really proud of the way staff reacted. As always they put patients first and didn’t let this cyber-attack faze them. They just got on with doing what they do best, looking after our patients."
