A sporting big-hitter is helping serve up an exciting addition to a successful Trust programme of healthy mind and body community activities across Bedfordshire and Luton.
The British Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) is supporting new Tennis with Mindful U sessions in Luton along with Active Luton.
Fun, affordable, informal sessions are held every Thursday from 1-2pm at Venue 360 in Gipsy Lane and are open to all. It is £2 per session.
They are part of the Trust’s ‘Mindful’ sessions developed with partners to provide gentle exercise, opportunities to socialise and informal, friendly NHS support and advice on maintaining mental wellbeing.
Other activities include swimming, wellbeing walks, yoga, badminton, boxercise and table tennis.
The successful initiative started in Bedford Borough in partnership with Bedford Borough Council and Mind BLMK and has now expanded across the county.
“The Mindful programme is going from strength to strength,” said Health Development Coordinator Steve Muggridge, the Trust’s project lead.
“We want to improve physical health to improve mental health. Every session and activity is designed around the principles of being open to all, welcoming, engaging and fun.
“Come and join us, we would love to see you.”
