Daytime and evening online forums are being held for people to share their views, ask questions and learn more about the Trust’s vision to modernise inpatient mental health care

ELFT believes that care can be improved across Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Luton through a programme that includes building a £60m new mental health hospital at Bedford Health Village and investing £10m in redeveloping existing inpatient services in Luton.

A Case for Change document has been produced explaining why the partners think the programme would be a good idea – and the public are now being asked for their views before the programme is taken forward.

The Trust, in partnership with Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group (BLMK CCG), is hosting two online forums for members of the public to hear more about the ideas, ask questions and share their views and experience.

“We think this is the right thing to do but a vital part of this process is listening to service users, carers, partners and other members of the public,” said Richard Fradgley, ELFT’s executive for integrated care.

“This is your NHS and we want to hear your views.”

The online meetings are open to anyone with an interest in NHS mental health inpatient care in Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Luton.

All attendees are required to register to take part and can use the links below to register in advance, or should allow a few minutes to complete registration at the start of their preferred event.
