The North Hackney Recovery team which provides mental health care support is to move from its current base at Anita House in Stoke Newington, to a new location in Homerton at the end of April.
The team provides a range of services to individuals with a mental health condition to help them get back on track with their lives and develop strategies to help them to recover. The team provide support to families and carers too.
The team are informing everyone that uses their service so that they know where to go and the local bus routes. The telephone number will remain the same: 0207 275 1000 The new location will involve more travel time for patients.
Derek Miller, the team manager said, “We are sad to be leaving our Stoke Newington base of over 20 years where we have built very good networks and connections with the local community. We looked for suitable alternative venues for the service in other locations in the borough without success.
The base on Homerton High Street is served with 5-6 bus routes so was thought to be a viable option. The 276, 236 and the 488 particularly directly connect areas in the north with the Homerton. Staff will talk to patients about their travel needs and any issues they are worried about.”
The service will operate from Vivienne Cohen House from 25 April.
