ELFT Vice Chair for Bedfordshire and Luton, Mary Elford, has been appointed as Chair of Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust (CCS).
Mary will start her new role with CCS on April 1, 2020 and remain in her ELFT Vice Chair role until the summer.
Mary said: “ELFT is remarkable organisation and it has been a privilege to be involved with such an inclusive, progressive and compassionate NHS Trust.
“However it is an exciting opportunity to join CCS as Chair, an organisation which shares ELFT’s commitment to delivering responsive, people-centred and integrated care to the populations it serves.
“The partnership approach from both Trusts in providing Bedfordshire Community Health Services (BCHS) clearly demonstrates a shared ambition to deliver personalised care and a collaborative approach to achieving that.
“CCS shares ELFT’s values and both organisations are rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.”
Trust Chair Marie Gabriel has paid tribute to Mary’s contribution to ELFT over the past eight years.
“Mary has provided exceptional insight, guidance and counsel to the Trust,” she said.
“She has also been instrumental in fostering strategic partnerships and progress across the Bedfordshire and Luton health and social care footprint in her role as Vice Chair for the county.
“Mary demonstrates our Trust values - care, respect and inclusivity – through everything she does for ELFT. I have always appreciated Mary’s ability to bring her personal experience as a carer to ground board discussions.
She added: “I feel incredibly proud to have worked with Mary. We will miss her.
“I want to say a personal thank you for everything she has helped us achieve.”
The ELFT Council of Governors will be responsible for appointing Mary’s successor.
