A Matron from the Trust’s Forensic High Dependency Unit has spoken of her pride at being asked to represent the Trust at a reception hosted by the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street.
Dadai Gwendoline Dandato was among mental health nurses invited from across the country to meet Theresa May MP on World Mental Health Day, October 10.
The reception was also part of a global summit on mental health change in London which had representation from 68 countries.
Dadai had an opportunity to chat with the Prime Minister and network with peers from different organisations.
“It was a tremendous honour to attend 10 Downing Street, to meet the Prime Minister and share ideas with colleagues from across the NHS,” she said.
“The request from ELFT for me to represent the organisation also demonstrated how supported I feel as a black woman working for a progressive and open Trust committed to equality.”
