A successful fair has been held by the Trust and partners to connect carers in Luton with support and help available for them.

Luton Carers’ Fair was held at Youthscape on Wednesday 12 June as part of Carers' Week 2019.

It was organised by the Luton Working Together Group, part of ELFT, in partnership with a host of organisations from the town.

The informal event was held to provide a friendly, informal opportunity for carers to meet people from a range of services offering different forms of support.

The working together group has been established for people who use services to help shape, develop and improve care in Luton.

“Service users from our group have been invaluable in shaping how this event looks and feels, so it delivers information carers want and in a welcoming and friendly environment,” said Jon Southam, ELFT’s People Participation Lead for Luton.

“This is also the start of a journey to further develop relationships between carers who do an amazing job day in, day out, and the network of fantastic organisations in Luton who can give them a helping hand.”

Jon thanked all of the organisations involved on the day including CHUMS, Alzheimer’s Society, Bedfordshire and Luton Recovery College, Caraline, CEDA, ResoLUTiONs, Carers in Bedfordshire, Healthwatch Luton, Total Wellbeing Luton, An Ear to Hear, Luton All Women’s Centre and Bedfordshire Police.
