Christmas celebrations took place at all units across the Trust to mark the Christian Festival of the Birth of Jesus.
At the Tower Hamlets Centre for Mental Health, fifty users and staff from all backgrounds joined together to sing carols on the Friday before Christmas. The food for the occasion was presented to the centre by Mark, the manager of Tesco at Bow, who has been supporting the work of the Department of Spiritual Care at the Tower Hamlets Centre.
The carol service was organised and led by Volunteer of the Year, Steve Cordes, who has forged close links with the local store. It was a joyous occasion with Mark also presenting boxes of sweets to all the wards.
Such occasions demonstrate once again that in mental health services we are able to bring users from all spiritual backgrounds together regardless of tradition. A message of hope to the wider world at Christmas.
