Three Trust teams and services have made it through to the final round of the prestigious HSJ Awards for 2020, and are up to present their innovative work to the HSJ judges over the next couple of weeks.

First up is the City and Hackney Specialist Psychotherapy Service, who have been working with City and Hackney CCG,

The Advocacy Project and Core Arts to establish and develop the use of digital platforms (including SilverCloud and Patients Know Best) to improve service access, patient care and service user autonomy across all sectors in the borough.

Whilst this work started before the Covid 19 pandemic, current circumstances have emphasised the value of using digital technology in improving service user mental health and experience.

The team's work has been shortlisted for 3 Health Service Journal Awards 2020, under the categories of:

- Mental Health Innovation of the Year Award
Connecting Services and Information Award
- Digitising Patient Services Initiative Award

Elsewhere, the Trust's People & Culture team (P&C) and Newham Community Services Rapid Response team based at the East Ham Care Centre are both through as finalists as well.

The Newham team's nomination is part of a collective effort, that sees them working collaboratively with the London Borough of Newham, Barts Health Trust & Age UK.

The Integrated Discharge Hub manages patient's rapid discharge from hospital - a particularly challenging task this year.

The Trust's People & Culture team is through to the finals for the HSJ Awards for the NHS Workplace Race Equality Award for their entry, 'Compassion & Equality in Work Relations.'

On learning of the nominations, ELFT's Director of People & Culture, Tanya Carter said:

"An incredible amount of work has gone into protecting ELFT employees this year.

"I work with an outstanding team, a very committed group of people.

"To get nominated for these awards speaks volumes about the quality of work that is being done at ELFT to look after our staff."

The HSJ Awards 2020 take place on 17 March 2021.
