A conference exploring the Care Programme Approach (CPA) in mental health is being hosted by the Trust in partnership with City, University of London.
Care Programme Approach in Mental Health Care: past, present and future – time to move on? will feature leading national speakers who will explore the theme from an academic and healthcare perspective.
Speakers include service users, ELFT Head of People Participation Paul Binfield, Dr Sri Kalidindi, Professors Tim Kendall, Tom Burns, David Kingdon, Stefan Priebe, Alan Simpson and Frank Röhricht.
There will be presentations on latest CPA research and an overview and evaluation of an innovative new approach to recovery-focused care planning.
“The Care Programme Approach (CPA) model is nearly 30 years old and Ideas about rehabilitation, service user involvement and recovery have undergone seismic changes during this time,” said Professor Alan Simpson, one of the event organisers.
“The big question we will be exploring is: ‘has the life of the CPA come to a natural end?’"
The conference will be held on Thursday 1 November at the university.
