A film made by the prostate cancer charity, Orchid, involving Newham service users, is up for a film award in the Charity Film Awards and needs your vote!
The film, 'Letter to my Unpresented Self - one man's personal journey with prostate cancer,' has special meaning to ELFT as service users in Newham who attend a support group run by the Trust, were involved in talking to the charity Orchid and to the scriptwriter in its development.

Raising Awareness of Prostate Cancer With BME Men
The film aims to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer in BME men as they have a higher chance of developing the disease than the average male population and are likely to present late and with more advanced disease. Orchid wanted to produce a film to address the concerns of BME men and has done so with an entertaining and at times, amusing film.
Several people from the support group attended the premiere in a London hotel earlier this year. The Trust hosted a local premiere at East Ham Care Centre as well. This was so well attended, the film had to be shown twice during the event in two stages! The film was also shown in a workshop at the Trust's Annual General Meeting in October and was well received.
You have until 1 December to vote.
The winners will be announced in April 2020
