Art therapist Nicki Power and colleagues from the Trust’s Learning Disabilities service have been featured on an online channel inspiring students in choosing careers.
The team were filmed at their base in Twinwoods, Bedfordshire, for the WOW Show, a live online channel creating real-life encounters with the world of work to inspire young people about their futures.
Programmes are shown in classrooms across the country to engage young people when considering career opportunities.
Nicki and colleagues were filmed to demonstrate you don’t have to be a doctor or nurse to work in the NHS. The report demonstrates how a range of therapists work with patients with learning disabilities and mental illness to help them live fuller lives.
Nicki, Head of Art Therapies in Bedfordshire and Luton, said: “I absolutely love my job and hope this report will help young people consider a career in the NHS as a therapist.”
The WOW Show is free and all programmes are available on its YouTube channel.
