Bedfordshire Community Health Services are now being provided by East London NHS Foundation Trust.
ELFT, working in partnership with Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust (CCS), officially started the five-year contract today (Sunday 1 April, 2018).
ELFT Deputy Chief Executive, Steven Course, visited community beds teams working at the Archer Unit in Bedford Health Village this morning to say hello, welcome them to the Trust and hand out Easter eggs.
Steven said: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet our new colleagues from the Archer Unit.
“Today marks an exciting new chapter for the Trust.
“We will work with our new community health colleagues and Cambridgeshire Community Health Services (CCS) to provide joined-up care built around the needs of the individual and shaped using our expertise in continuous improvement and service user and carer involvement.”
The contract will cover a range of adult and children’s community health and care services and other specialist services including nutrition and dietetics, podiatry services, wheelchair services, community dental services, as well as drug and alcohol services for children and young people.
The total annual value, across all commissioners, is £39m.
