Get support from RDS London

Research Design Service (RDS) London provides s support to those preparing research proposals for submission to peer-reviewed funding competitions for applied health or social care research, including:

  • Formulating research questions
  • Build an appropriate research team
  • Involving patients and the public
  • Designing a study

Prepare the costing information

As early in the process as possible, and at least 4-6 weeks before the application deadline, request support from the noclor finance team to cost your proposal. If possible, send them a draft of your grant application and protocol; at a minimum, please provide them with the names and employers of all co-investigators so they can get started. The noclor team will work with you to quantify the research, service support and treatment costs of the proposal.

Request authorisation from the lead NHS organisation

Most grant applications require the signature of a finance representative and an executive of the lead NHS organisation. In the East London NHS Foundation Trust, Matthew Hart, Deputy Director of Finance, and Prof Stefan Priebe, Director of Research, provide these authorisations.

It is advisable to check their availability and let them view a draft a fortnight before your submission deadline,

Submit your application
Once you’ve finalised the application and received authorisation from the lead NHS organisation, you can submit.
