Men and women who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) have a high risk of developing mental health difficulties. This is often linked to stigma, discrimination and bullying as well other factors such as culture, age, location, community, religion and other psycho-social factors. Whilst we cannot change the views of others we can provide education to promote openness and understanding.

This course will explore definitions of sexuality, the experience of exploring and accepting sexual orientation, how sexuality can impact mental health and what can be done to support people who are struggling with this. Signposting to local and wider community supports will also be included.
