Referrals are via your GP, consultants or other health professional.
Who can refer?
Adults who are able to attend a clinic may be referred by their General Practitioner, District Nurses or any other health or social care professional. An appointment to attend the nurse led clinic at 29 Romford Road will be offered
Adults who are house bound should be referred to the District Nursing Service for assessment.
Children under the age of 5 years with special needs should be referred to the Health Visitor..
Children over the age of 5 years and in school should be referred to the School Nurse.
Children with night time bedwetting, who are 5 years and over, need to be referred to the Enuresis Clinic at West Ham Lane clinic; this is a special clinic for school age children.

The service provides specialist continence assessment, investigations, treatment and support to residents of Newham who have pelvic girdle pain, bladder, bowel or pelvic floor dysfunction leading to bladder and bowel incontinence.
The service provides:
Individual specialist assessment
Treatment and support in the clinic
Joint home visits – for people with more complex difficulties who need to be assessed at home
Education and advice to individuals and professionals on up to date methods of maintaining and promoting continence
The service also provides educational support on “Promotion of Continence and the Management of Incontinence” to medical, non-medical professionals, clients and carers, through training programmes, exhibitions, other health events and literature.

The group continues to grow with up to 15 attendees on average each month.
