Spiritual, Religious & Cultural Care

The Department of Spiritual, Religious and Cultural Care recognises the importance of cultural and spiritual needs of the Trust's service users and the influence of these needs on their mental health. We provide a range of support to assist people during their recovery and to maintain wellbeing.

Services:

  • One to one visits on wards
  • Groups on wards
  • Acts of worship and rituals from different faith traditions
  • Linking service users to their faith communities
  • Celebration of festivals
  • Provision of religious texts and materials
  • Individual spiritual needs assessment linked to the Care Programme Approach
  • Monthly liaison meetings with staff
  • Recovery College Courses
  • Support to Community Teams and clients
  • Spirituality & Recovery Peer Support Groups
  • Collaboration with community groups and projects
  • Needs lead staff training to colleagues and trainees
  • Support to staff

Inpatient: We prioritise working on wards in response to referrals as access to community resources and contacts for these clients may be limited.

Community: We also receive referrals from community colleagues. We aim to at least offer support and consultation to staff and where resources allow, work alongside our colleagues to offer support directly to ELFT community clients.

Please send all referrals and enquiry emails to the team address which is received by all staff:
