How To Become an ELFT Foundation Trust Member Welcome to the Trust members area The Trust gained Foundation Trust Status in November 2007 and since then many members of the public, many of them patients, service users and carers have signed up to become members. Trusttalk Magazine Our magazine 'Trusttalk' is produced on a quarterly basis. The publication is a great way for members and the public to learn about the key stories through the Trust. Governors and Members Office We have a dedicated team to support our governors and members. The team role includes keeping members and governors informed about developments within ELFT and ensuring the Council is effective and has impact. Foundation Trust Membership Foundation Trusts are a specific type of NHS Trust. Foundation Trusts have a duty to engage with their local communities and encourage local people to become members. They are still a part of the National Health Service but have more autonomy in return for local accountability.
