Newham Governors
I have held senior management positions in local government where I’ve gained extensive experience in building strong, long-term relationships with users of various services, ensuring they always have access to the best solutions.
My responsibilities included governance, IT and customer care, where I led efforts to develop and improve services, products, and systems, while constantly seeking new opportunities in key areas. In these roles I focused on understanding and addressing challenges, fostering partnerships while carefully monitoring budgets to reduce costs and waste.
My Commitments:
- Enhanced Patient Care: Prioritising patient needs and ensuring everyone has access to high-quality healthcare services.
- Effective Governance: Holding the non- elected directors accountable for their performance and ensuring they deliver on their commitments.
- Community Engagement: Creating platforms for regular interaction with members and the public to gather feedback and improve services.
- Sustainable Practices: Promoting environmentally sustainable practices within the Trust to protect our future.
I hope I could usefully offer the Trust fruits from years of both general experience in volunteering and community involvement; and specific experience in Mental Health Service organisations.
Currently I am engaged as member of East Ham Citizens Assembly Working Group, and as a writer for Newham Voices.
I have a role as reporter from Council Meetings. I am sure that, even at my advanced age, this has sharpened my skills in picking up threads from meetings.
I am an enthusiastic community member of Older Person's Reference Group and would like to contribute positively to the needs of Newham.
I am an older person with a heart for people and their needs. I hope to bring my vast experience of being a professional nurse and a community activist.
I am a member of the Retired Nurses Association where I am very active.
