The event, that took place from 10am to 1.30pm, celebrated and appreciated the committed role of carers and gave the community a chance to speak and share their views.
Carers play an essential role in supporting the wellbeing and stability of those they care for, often while navigating complex situations, emotional strain, and competing demands.
The Forum acknowledges the realities of carer burnout and aims to offer a space where carers feel appreciated, understood, and able to connect with others who genuinely share their experiences.
The event brought together carers, staff, and local partners including speakers from the local Recovery College, Luton Borough Council, Carers Central, and the Alzheimer Society.
Lunch was provided, and each attendee received a small gift bag as a gesture of thanks. Many carers expressed that they left feeling supported, listened to, and more connected than when they arrived.
Those who attended have since created their own WhatsApp group and are already planning a lunch together.
Below is a selection of the feedback received:
- “Thought-out event with joint working with community providers. Would attend again and promote to others.”
- “The meeting was well structured; staff and speakers first class, all very helpful and kind. We will be pleased to attend anytime in the future.”
- “Thank you to the team for organising the carers event. A lot of useful information which will help. A great opportunity to meet other carers.”

This feedback will help shape future Forums, with the next one planned for June 2026.
