Diane Ball, Team Manager at the Newham Crisis Hub and Newham Home Treatment Team, is celebrating 40 years of service in the NHS.
Newham staff and colleagues wore cut-out masks of Diane and served her with sunflowers and a chocolate cake made in the shape of giant numbers, '40', to mark the milestone.

Diane is also the founding ward manager of Opal Ward and has worked in Newham crisis services for over a decade. She helped nurture initiatives such as the Hope Garden by empowering others, and knows every patient's story.
Newham Borough Director, Bailey Mitchell, said: "It’s hard to do justice in a few words to the impact Di has had over her remarkable 40-year career in mental health services. She has provided steadfast leadership within the Crisis Assessment Service and Home Treatment Team and shaped and supported services with unwavering commitment. She can always be counted upon in times of need and is a tireless advocate for both staff and service users.
"Di has not only steered teams through challenge and change, but done so with wisdom, humour, and integrity. Every member of staff knows they can turn to her for support. Her leadership is always anchored in what matters most: the wellbeing of those we care for, and those we work alongside."
