Helping the NHS to go Further
The ELFT Charity has supported initiatives in Bedfordshire, Luton and East London to help the NHS and ELFT services go that bit further. It has funded gardening initiatives that have brought pleasure to service users and staff, jamming sessions to develop skills and create new musical arrangements, social gath
erings for families with children with special needs, the Healthier Wealthier Families project, Barista training for forensic service users and many smaller projects.
Our recent Moments of Joy initiative, to fund small impactful ideas, attracted more than 120 applications to help make the patient/service user experience a little better.
Next Steps in Our Journey
We are now developing a forward-looking strategy to ensure we maximise our assets, grow external funding, and expand the reach of what we can deliver. We plan to launch this new strategy over the summer.
Thank You and ... Microhive
Our fourth birthday is an opportunity to recognise and thank the many staff members who have raised funds to support the Charity’s work. We are encouraging even more colleagues to get involved—whether by fundraising or signing up to Microhive. Over 700 staff have signed up to donate the small change in their monthly salary. If you are paid £1200.37, the 37p is donated to the ELFT Charity. It just takes a moment to do - staff will need to have their employee number to hand.
ELFT Charity Champions
We are also asking staff to actively advocate for the Charity, helping to raise its profile across teams, and ensuring more people are aware of the support it can offer. We have just recruited our first ELFT Charity Champion and are looking for other staff champions. A Champion is someone who can share information about the charity, support colleagues in applications for monies, support fundraising ideas and be a local point of contact. If you are a member of ELFT staff and would be interested in becoming an ELFT Charity Champion, contact us here for more information: elft.charity@nhs.net
