The document has been produced to reflect on change across the organisation over the last five years and to help colleagues, service users and partners consider what our priorities should be for the next five years.
The report highlights progress across the strategy’s four strategic outcomes: improved population health, improved experience of care, improved staff experience and improved value.
Key achievements include the formation of a people participation (PP) directorate, ELFT becoming the first NHS ‘Marmot Trust’ to test the boundaries of what an NHS Trust can do to tackle some of the drivers of poor health, PCREF (Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework), applying quality improvement (QI) to all that we do and the development of integrated care.
“I want to thank everyone who helped us with developing our strategy in 2021, and ask that you all join us in ensuring we have the right plan for the next five years to enable our communities and our workforce to thrive,” said ELFT Chief Executive Lorraine Sunduza OBE.

Help shape our new strategy
A Big Conversation engagement programme is now underway to develop a new five-year strategy.
Whether you work for ELFT, use our services, are a governor or member, or are one of our partners, you are invited to be part of our Big Conversation. Together we can consider what our over-arching goals should be, debate long-term plans and discuss the things we hope to achieve over the next five years.
Visit our Big Conversation page for more information and to get involved.
