Strike action by Junior Doctors will run for 72 hours, starting on Monday 13 March and conclude on the morning of Thursday 16 March.

The absence of our junior doctors, key and valued members of our teams, will impact on our clinical services. So, we have been meeting to plan for this to ensure our services are safe and that patients receive the best clinical support.

On the days of industrial action, our acute and crisis services will be prioritised. Other services may be impacted - this might include cancelling and re-booking appointments.

Dr David Bridle, Interim Chief Medical Officer said, "We have been reviewing what is required to continue to provide services effectively and safely. Patients and service users will contacted in advance if we need to change their appointment to another day.

"We will be holding daily local and trustwide meetings throughout the 72-hour strike period to closely monitor how services are managing, resolve any issues that arise or actions that are needed. I would like thank all teams for the forethought and effort they are putting in to ensure patient safety remains the priority through this period."

If you have an appointment during this period, please attend as you usually would. We will contact people directly if we have to change the date.
