Support is available for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis by contacting NHS 111 and selecting the mental health option. The service is open to all ages and available 24hrs a day, seven days a week.
The service will also continue to be available during the strike, which is scheduled to run from 7am Monday (March 13) until 7am on Thursday (March 16).
Crisis Cafes will also continue be available, offering walk-in support for people who need mental health crisis support.
Crisis café details:
- Luton Crisis Café is at 46-56 Dumfries Street, Luton, LU1 5BP and is open 5pm-11pm daily
- Bedford Crisis Café is at Florence Ball House, Bedford Health Village, Kimbolton Road and remains open 5pm-11pm daily
- Crisis Café support in Central Bedfordshire is available at The Lawns Resource Centre in Biggleswade, SG18 0PT, between 5pm-11pm Thursday and Friday. Support is also available from Townsend Court in Mayer Way, Houghton Regis, 5pm-11pm Sunday to Monday
Extended hours for Bedfordshire and Luton CMHTs
Community mental health teams (CMHTs) operating in Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Luton are temporarily extending their hours of operation to 8pm to support service users under their care during the junior doctors’ strike.
This will be available until 8pm on March 13, 14 and 15.
