Alison Nicholas, who is the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Service Team Lead for Bedfordshire and Luton Employment Services, has been knitting handmade poppies. These will be sold at the open day, with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.
She has worked at the Trust for seven years, having started as an Employment Specialist within the service. As part of her role, Alison is a ‘Veteran Champion’ due to her family connections to the British Armed Forces. She provides support and advocacy for the veteran community across the region.
Additional colleagues who will be supporting the Royal British Legion at the open day are:
-
Andy Ferguson – IPS Employment Specialist Crombie House, Leighton Buzzard
-
Rachel Briggs – IPS Employment Specialist Grove View Health Hub, Dunstable
-
Heena French – IPS Team Administrator
The open day will be held on Friday 7 November, 10am-4pm at Grove View Health Hub Court Drive, Dunstable LU5 4JD. Anybody can attend.
For those who would like to knit their own poppies, the Royal British Legion has provided a helpful guide about how to get started. Once completed, they should be sent to Alison at the below address:
C/O Alison Nicholas, Nicholas Crombie House
36 Hockliffe Street
Leighton Buzzard

Knitters should enclose their email address when sending the poppies to Alison, so she can personally thank them and inform them how much was raised on the day. All poppies sent will be available to purchase at the open day.
