More than 70 patients attended the fair hosted by The Greenhouse practice in Tudor Road on 5 December 2025.
The annual event was held in partnership with a range of community partners and visitors received free health checks, meals, clothing, toiletries, and support with housing and employment.
Each of the partners involved provided specific support.
Turning Point offered help and counselling for substance misuse, Groundswell empowered attendees by fostering peer advocacy initiatives, Smokefree City & Hackney provided information and support on quitting smoking, the Hepatitis C Trust gave advice and conducted hepatitis C testing and Positive East offered a comprehensive and holistic range of support services for sexual health.
Starbucks donated a large supply of hot drinks for attendees after being contacted by the ELFT Charity. The donation helped create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and offered comfort to people who often face extremely challenging circumstances. Staff said this simple gesture played a powerful role in building trust and helping patients feel cared for.
"We are grateful to all our partner organisations, including Starbucks, whose generous donations helped make this event possible."
"A special thanks to the ELFT Charity, who went above and beyond to secure support from the community so every patient was cared for."
"These contributions play an important role in building trust and strengthening our connection with the people we serve," said Ruth Thacker, Practice Manager.
The Greenhouse Practice specialises in supporting people experiencing homelessness, including those in temporary accommodation or unable to register with a GP. It is committed to providing accessible healthcare for Hackney's homeless community.
