Brunel’s Alumni of the Year Awards, held on 11 June 2025 at its campus in Uxbridge, recognise the extraordinary achievements of graduates across the decades. The annual ceremony focusses on individuals who are leading innovation, transforming lives and giving back to their communities in remarkable ways.
Ifeyinwa received a Master’s degree in Social Work from Brunel in 2017, which began a career across the public, private and voluntary health sectors. She joined ELFT in 2021 and is currently the Clinical Team Lead for THEWS. This is a service that helps to improve the wellbeing for children and young people by providing free mental health support within school settings and early interventions support. In Ifeyinwa’s role, she is overseeing a national project to improve mental health outcomes for young people across 75 schools in Tower Hamlets.
Commenting on her recognition, Ifeyinwa said: “It is a true honour to have been celebrated alongside so many remarkable former students at Brunel. Each and every person nominated has played a pivotal role in their field of work, so it really means a lot to be one of nine award recipients.
“Thank you to the Social Work department at Brunel for nominating me. I look forward to continuing to take forward learnings from my degree in every-day practice at ELFT.”
In addition to this award, Ifeyinwa was featured in Brunel’s 2026 Postgraduate Prospectus in its ‘Out of the Ordinary Alumnus’ section in recognition of exemplary leadership in public service. You can view this on the university’s ‘Request a prospectus’ webpage.
