This award recognises a team of podiatry professionals who have demonstrated exceptional collaboration, innovation creating a positive impact in the community.
The Service is formed of Podiatrists of trained and foot care assistants specialising in diagnosing, treating and preventing conditions affecting the foot, ankle and lower leg. Colleagues work together to provide advice and clinical expertise for patients experiencing high-risk foot problems. The team is based at Mile End Hospital, Bethnal Green Health Centre.
The Tower Hamlets Podiatry Service was shortlisted for its strong work as part of the homelessness project with a multidisciplinary team providing high standards of clinical care via its diabetic foot pathways and ulcer healing rates. The team was also noted for addressing health inequalities across the borough through its community outreach work and also providing culturally bespoke services.
Previously, the Service received a gold award from the Trust’s Service User-Led Accreditation scheme for its high-quality, patient-centred care. The programme assesses teams and services based on various standards, focusing on what matters most to patients.
Winners of the Podiatry Awards will be announced at a ceremony on Friday, 12 June 2026, at the Royal Institution, a scientific research organisation based in Westminster. The overall shortlist can be found on the Royal College of Podiatry’s website.
