It has been felt that the needs of the community can be best met via other NHS resources and community resources. We remain fully committed to providing high quality mental health support for Tower Hamlets residents. For those who need it, the below services are available:

North East London NHS 111, Option 2: Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year offering crisis support and intervention over the phone. There is a pathway for onward referral to the Crisis Assessment Team for face to face support, based at Mile End Hospital or in the community within 4 hours for an urgent mental health assessment.

Barnsley Street Neighbourhood Mental Health Centre: Available for anybody known to associated GP’s and mental health services The centre offers planned and drop-in sessions with psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, voluntary sector and peer support workers. For those who need it, the site will have up to six guest beds for overnight stays. No referrals are required to access the service. The centre is open from 8am to 8pm, with Look Ahead staff present 24/7 to welcome guests and for those staying in guest beds. Associated GPs include:

Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies: Offers a range of free and confidential talking therapies and specialist support with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The service offers appointments from Monday to Friday, between 9am to 5pm and is able to offer evening appointments with therapists availability.

Mind Tower Hamlets Recovery & Wellbeing Services: Connecting Communities and offers navigation, groups & activities, advice and information.

Mind Tower Hamlets Recovery and Wellbeing Employment Hub: Supporting clients to find employment through volunteering, training, pre-employment support and peer coaching, as well as business planning and in work retention support.

Mind Tower Hamlets Mental Health Support Service: Providing person-centred 1-2-1 confidential support, including face-to-face sessions within the community and co-produced assessments and support planning. It provides access to wider services to increase social inclusion, working in partnership with local community resources.

Idea Store: Offering library services as well as a wide range of adult learning courses and an extensive activities and events programme. It is open on evenings and weekends, varying across all branches.

The Creative Health Tree, St Margaret’s House: Providing weekly activities from yoga to crafting and woodwork to massages, which are available to socially-prescribed patients.

Step Forward Bethnal Green: Supporting young people aged 11-25 for free and confidential support services, Monday to Saturday (including evenings). The centre offers 1-2-1 sessions, group sessions, workshops, fun and healthy activities, and a weekly clinic.
