These foodbanks work using a voucher referral system. Vouchers are issued by local agencies. Everyone who comes to the foodbank for emergency food must have a valid foodbank voucher. Additional support from the foodbanks is a six week Eat Well Spend Less course providing basic cookery, nutrition, and food budget management advice.
