The aims are to prevent, contain and manage the treatment of tuberculosis (TB). Providing individual care to support people with TB and their families.
By rapid intervention and assessment of those suspected of active tuberculosis, the TB nursing service expects to prevent the spread of Tuberculosis within the community by arranging treatment at the earliest opportunity and by identifying and screening those who have been in contact with and are at risk of developing Tuberculosis.
BCG vaccination is offered to high risk groups to help protect those most at risk of developing TB.
