Ivory Ward

Ivory Ward is a 15-bed mixed-gender inpatient service that provides holistic, safe, and therapeutic care. There are separate male and female corridors and female patients have access to an exclusive female lounge.

Staff actively engage and involve people who are experiencing acute mental health episodes which cannot be managed in a less restrictive setting, owing to the degree of risk, clinical need, or patient choice.

Whilst patients receive individualised care and treatment based on their needs, the multi-disciplinary team works closely with all patients, their families, and carers in providing a therapeutic environment that lends itself to patient recovery.

Who we are
Our team consists of a consultant psychiatrist, a specialty doctor dedicated to nurses and social therapists, a psychologist, and an occupational therapist. We work in partnership with community recovery teams, home treatment teams, and GPs.

We conduct a thorough assessment of all our patients. This includes assessment by psychiatrists, nurses, and specialist assessments by an occupational therapist, a psychologist, and a substance misuse specialist nurse. To support the social needs of the patients we receive input from our welfare office.

In parity to their mental health, we ensure the physical health of our patients is well attended to. To help with that goal we receive support from a local GP and diabetic nurse. Input from a tissue recovery nurse and dietitian can be arranged according to the patients’ needs.

Our practice is recovery focused something we were commended on by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
