Shoreditch Ward is a medium-secure service for men aged 18 and over who have a learning disability. The ward has 14 beds and offers support throughout each person’s stay using a multi-disciplinary team approach.
We work with service users using a trauma-informed approach, ensuring care is compassionate, safe, and respectful of each person’s experiences.
Each patient’s progress is managed by the clinical team using the Care Programme Approach (CPA), which is based on a Recovery Model to support individual goals and wellbeing.
Family and carers are supported and encouraged to be involved in their loved one’s care wherever appropriate.

Our team includes nurses, healthcare assistants, a consultant, speech and language therapist, psychologist, occupational therapist, and social worker.
People on the ward can take part in a wide range of therapeutic activities, both on the ward and out in the community, depending on their treatment plan. There is also access to outdoor space within the unit.
