Working Well Trust- Tower Hamlets Individual Placement Support Service
Providing support and guidance for clients to move toward paid employment using the IPS method the Tower Hamlets service of Working Well Trust supports clients create CV’s, fill in job applications, prepare for interviews as well as provide access to training, education and work experience. They do this by working together with the client to create an individual action plan to help them achieve their employment goals and provide support around additional needs to get on the road to paid employment.
Eligibility
A client must want to find paid employment, be a resident of the borough of Tower Hamlets, be over the age of 18+ and have a diagnosis of serious mental illness/be accessing secondary mental health support.

Working Well Trust- Upskill Service
Upskill works with people affected by mental health challenges to achieve their vocational goals. They support clients to find pathways to training and volunteering opportunities needed to develop skills essential for future employment and wellbeing. The service supports clients to access volunteering, apprenticeships, work experience placements and find free accredited training opportunities.
Eligibility
Upskill accepts referrals from primary and secondary care health services as well as other voluntary sector organisations and self-referrals.

Working Well Trust- In Work Support
Our In-Work Support service helps employees impacted by mental health challenges to maintain their employment, as a key enabler to supporting their recovery and mental health. Along with supporting employees, they also prioritise equipping employers with the tools, support and awareness to effectively support and manage staff with mental health support needs.
Eligibility
A client must be a Tower Hamlets Resident, diagnosed with a mental health condition. be under either primary or secondary care with the NHS and be in employment (part-time/full-time) or be on sick leave from employment.

Tower Hamlets Council – Local Supported Employment Programme
This programme is designed to help people with learning disabilities, autism, or severe mental health conditions into paid employment. Using a personalised 5-stage approach, the service provides intensive support from trained job coaches who work with individuals and employers to ensure successful job matching, onboarding, and sustained employment.

Tower Hamlets residents aged 18+ with a learning disability, autism, or a severe mental health condition who want to find paid employment.

Tower Hamlets Council – Connect to Work Programme
Connect to Work is a voluntary programme funded by the UK Government to support disabled people, people with health conditions, and individuals in specified groups to move into and maintain employment. It also provides support to those in work but at risk of losing their employment, helping them to retain their jobs. Through specialist one-to-one support from a dedicated Employment specialist, participants receive:
- Vocational Profiling and personalised Action Plan
- Access to a wide range of employers
- Health-related interventions
- Job-specific CV and cover letter creation
- Mock interviews
- Better-off calculation
- National Careers Service skills and job assessments
- Travel planning
- Ongoing in-work support

Open to Tower Hamlets residents aged 18+, unemployed (out of work) or employed but at risk of losing employment (in work). Have a health condition or disability or meet the definition of one of the specified groups below, who have additional and complex barriers

Working Well Trust- Business & Enterprise
The Business & Enterprise service aims to support those who are interested in pursuing self-employment as an alternative to a traditional job, offering a dedicated service that provides advice and support for clients wishing to start their own business. This includes email consultation, one-to-one support with emails, face-to-face meetings, funding advice, resource & application advice, business plan development, and more.
Eligibility
To be taken on for regular, ongoing support, clients should:
- Have some clarity on the nature of the business they wish to pursue.
- Be ready to begin developing a business plan or strategy with our support.
- Have the capacity and motivation to work on developing their business regularly;
- Show intent to generate income or register their business/self-employment within a year;
Due to high demand, the B&E service must prioritise those most ready to benefit from regular and intensive business development support and are actively seeking employment, rather than those only considering the idea of returning to work.

The King’s Trust
The King’s Trust supports young people to get into work, education or self-employment. It offers friendly, tailored help and short courses to build confidence and develop practical skills.

Careers Young WorkPath
Careers Young WorkPath provides impartial career information, advice and guidance. Eligibility: Young people between 13 to 19 years and young people up to 25 years if they have special educational needs and an education, health and care plan (EHCP).
