We know how to make a difference - we have a lifetime of experience to share. Our Working Together Group meets monthly, providing a space where our voices are heard, our concerns are addressed, and real improvements are made. We invite clinicians and staff members to discuss their services and explore meaningful ways to contribute. Participation is flexible - whether you join a specific project, share your experiences, or simply listen and learn, your input is always valued.
There is an ever-growing list of involvement opportunities, including:
- Interview Panels – helping to shape the future of NHS ELFT teams by sharing our perspective in staff recruitment.
- Staff Training – educating professionals on the real experiences of service users and carers.
- Service Accreditations – ensuring NHS services meet the needs of older adults by reviewing and improving them.
- Focus Groups – discussing key issues that impact older adults and working together on solutions.
- Participants can be paid for their valuable contributions.
Many of our members describe the group as a lifeline - a place where they feel heard, supported, and empowered. As one member puts it: “People Participation meetings helped me to stay sane. You can open up more than with family members because you don’t feel judged.”
If you’re unsure about getting involved, our meetings are a great way to get a feel for what we do. You don’t have to commit - just come along, see what we’re about, and decide at your own pace. See if you are eligible to join us here
