Volunteering

Volunteering

The volunteer programme within East London NHS Foundation Trust has been in existence since 2011 and is looking to increase the range of volunteering roles within mental health and community health.

Volunteering is a great way to develop your skills and experience to support your career aspirations and to do something meaningful and interesting in your free time to help others.  Most volunteers must be over 18 years of age. However there will be some exceptions where roles will become available for those under 18 to apply for, this will be stipulated in the role description.

Please note volunteers do not replace existing paid workers roles but they complement and support the work that existing staff do across the Trust.

Training and checks for Volunteer Roles

Full training is provided and DBS plus reference checks are carried out for each volunteer role. Certificates of attendance for training and references can be supplied, and travel expenses are paid.

For all of our volunteering opportunities, you will need to undergo a compulsory training programme. There is also some additional training for certain roles. Details of any additional requirements will be shown in the role description.
