You can find out more about the ELFT Charity here
What a weekend! While most were still waking up on Saturday, our ELFT Charity runners were out at Victoria Park, putting in the miles for the Trust. The sun was out, the atmosphere was brilliant, and every single one of our runners crossed the finish line.
The six runners have so far raised £2200 and counting, for the ELFT Charity. The charity is currently funding Moments of Joy applications where ELFT staff can apply for monies for service user initiatives. Here is how the team got on:
Digital's Tom 'PB' Jen
ner: Tom put in a massive shift and clocked a personal best (PB)! He’s thrilled with the time and meeting his fundraising goal too.
Pharmacist Raj “Man of Steel” Jethwa: His mantra is - why run a half-marathon the easy way if you can do it in a weighted vest! Raj took endurance training to the extreme for the full 13 miles. He’s got the grit; now he just needs a final boost to hit his target. Help him to do that here
The legal team's Selina “Shout Out” Leung: Selina had some serious pace on the track, backed by her legendary cheering squad. It confirms what we already suspected—her friends are happy to stand in the cold for hours (with posters) just
for the excuse to drag her off for a post-run brunch! Selina was our fastest fundraiser, showing just how much that support matters.
Estates Health & Safety Manager, Del "The Marathon Machine" Basi Singh: Del is proof that it’s never too late to start. Having taken up running in his 50s, he’s now in his 60s and essentially eats half-marathons for breakfast. Del devoured this challenge, and we're already waiting to see where he wants us to send him next!
NEL ICB's Dan “The Rocket” Burningham: Dan deserves a massive cheer. Despite recently recovering from COVID, Dan (who is also in his 60s) was the first of our team to cross the line. His determination was incredible to watch and a real inspiration to the rest of the squad. This is collaboration in action - Dan doesn't even
work for ELFT but did the run for the ELFT Charity. He’s nearly at his fundraising goal—help him get there here.
Head of Staff Experience, Jill “Super Saturday” Dabbs: A fantastic performance with the best kind of motivation—her family cheering her on every lap especially the four year old in the buggy! Jill is a fundraising hero; thanks to some generous private donations, she hit her fundraising target some weeks ago!
Huge congratulations to the whole team. You’ve done the ELFT proud.
If you’d like to help Tom, Raj, and Dan edge closer towards their donation targets, you can support them here.
