Bromley By Bow Centre is delivering the four-week qualification programme designed to give people the knowledge, skills and confidence to become more physically and socially active within their communities.
“Having increased health awareness also empowers individuals to make healthy changes to their diet and exercise, helping to build self-esteem and an overall sense of wellbeing,” said programme coordinator Marica Wainner, Health Development Co-ordination Lead (East London) and part of the People Participation team.
The qualification may encourage progress onto further training, following other educational pathways, volunteering, peer mentoring or employment.
The initiative has already seen 45 colleagues and service users receive healthy lifestyle training and an Active IQ award.
The training is provided free of charge and is available to ELFT staff, service users or carers of people receiving care from ELFT services.
The next Cohort starts on January 17, 2023.
