Type 1 Diabetes explained

Type 1 diabetes is a condition where your body cannot make a hormone called insulin. This causes the level of glucose (sugar) in your blood to get too high. 

Type 2 Diabetes explained

Type 2 diabetes is when a hormone called insulin does not work properly or there is not enough of it. This causes the level of glucose (sugar) in your blood to become too high. It affects adults and sometimes children. 

Diabetes Awareness Videos

A set of educational videos have been produced to help share vital information with anyone affected by the condition – or those who wish to reduce their risk of getting diabetes. They are produced by North East London Integrated Care Board in partnership with Tower Hamlets GP Care Group, Healthy Island Partnership and Blithehale Health Centre.
