Patients admitted to the Fothergill ward and Sally Sherman ward are automatically referred to the service.
Activities Service (Newham)
The Activities Team offers a therapeutic activity program to two of the inpatient wards at the East Ham Care Centre. The therapeutic program aims to provide opportunities for people to participate in meaningful activities, socialise with others and support recovery and well being. The programme consists of group activities and individual sessions.
The program is changed weekly to ensure that people have the opportunity to participate in a variety of different activities.
All activities are optional. Group activities and individual sessions can either take place in the Activities Centre or our Sensory Garden on the ground floor, or the wards on the first floor.
After being admitted to East Ham Care Centre, our Activities Coordinators will meet with you to find out what activities you enjoyed in the past and enjoyed today. This will ensure that any activities offered suit your individual needs. Family and carers can be involved to help the team better understand how people would like to be supported during their admission.
