Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset. Oxford Health's research covers a wide number of conditions, including dementia, bipolar disorder, depression, and schizophrenia.

Staff and service users were recruited from Oxford Health for the exploratory study in WP2, are currently being recruited for the Randomised Controlled Trial in WP4, and will be recruited in future for the Process Evaluation in WP5.

 

Meet the Research Team

 Dr Andrew Molodynski (Principal Investigator)

Dr Andrew Molodynski is a consultant psychiatrist at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and honorary senior lecturer at Oxford University, UK. He has worked in community psychiatry for fifteen years and been actively involved in research in the field for ten. The main focus of his research has been with the social psychiatry group in Oxford.

He has also published on social and occupational functioning in people with severe mental illness and on different forms of service provision. He has co- authored a book on coercion and book chapters on assertive outreach, coercion, and adult safeguarding and published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is the chair of the World Association of Social Psychiatry working group on coercion and coordinates their website, which aims to provide education and links for interested parties (www.coercioninpsychiatry.com).

Due to his ongoing commitment to integrating clinical practice and research, Andrew has taken on the role of NIHR lead for mental health research in the Thames Valley and South Midlands. Read his staff profile here

Kate Manhattan (Clinical Research Assistant

Kate started working on TACK within Oxford Health in April 2020. Kate's background is in Forensic Mental Health, previously working in London as a Forensic Mental Health Practitioner and a Project Manager for a number of community-based projects working with Personality Disordered Offenders. Kate's spare time is mostly taken up looking after her 2 young children, but she has also recently taken up gardening and attempting (so far unsuccessfully) to learn to use a sewing machine.

Florence Hallett (Clinical Research Assistant)

Florence graduated with BSc Psychology in 2019. She had since been working as a Support Time and Recovery Worker for an Adult Mental Health Team in Oxfordshire, before joining the TACK team in August 2021. Florence is particularly interested in improving access to psychological therapies and reducing stigma around mental health. On the weekends, Florence enjoys spending time in the countryside and going for rides on her horse Connie who she shares with her sisters.
