Study Within a Trial (SWAT)
Lauren Hounsell is leading on a study within a trial, funded by NIHR NETSCC to explore the impacts of multiple long-term conditions (MLTCs) upon people’s decision to participate, and capacity to attend and engage with a range of group therapies as part of the ERA trial. Awareness of these experiences can help clinicians to tailor and plan future community groups with improved accessibility, support and care. The paper is planned for submission to a peer-reviewed journal in late 2024.
Lauren is a research assistant in the ERA study and a qualified counsellor. She completed an undergraduate degree in clinical and community psychology at the University of East London and she is now doing a Master's in Criminology and Criminal Psychology at the University of Essex.
