Why we are tackling digital inequality
A lack of digital skills and access can have a huge negative impact on a person’s life, leading to poorer health outcomes and a lower life expectancy, increased loneliness and social isolation, less access to jobs and education (Good Things Foundation).

ELFT service users have highlighted digital exclusion as a barrier to accessing essential health services, and with the future of health becoming increasingly online, there is growing concern that people are being left behind.

The People Participation Digital Community (PPDC) have assessed the aspects required for digital inclusion and co-produced the digital inclusion strategy, and is implementing these priority projects:
• A people participation device loan scheme
• Digital life coach training programme

People participation device loan scheme

Digital is involved in every aspect of our lives and is therefore critical for people to be able to access and operate digital and online technologies.

Digital Coaching Program

The Digital Life Coach program aims to equip participants with the coaching skills, planning tools and training resources to confidently prepare training sessions, providing digital support to service users, friends & family and to community groups.
