Welcome to ELFT Perinatal Services

We are here to help

Our dedicated team offer mental health support to people expecting a baby or who have recently given birth and their families throughout pregnancy right up until the baby’s first birthday.

How We Can Help

Having a baby is meant to be a joyous occasion, but if that’s not what you’re experiencing know that you are not alone!

One in every 10 people experience anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts or other debilitating mental health symptoms during their pregnancy or after giving birth.

This can be incredibly scary and isolating. It may be difficult to tell those close to you in case they don’t understand.

We want to assure you that you don’t need to do this alone. We are here to offer you support through this emotional time.

This website has been created in collaboration with people who have used our Perinatal services. They’ve been in your shoes and we’ve helped them through some darker days. Perhaps you recognise some of these statements?

  • I’m worried about what people will think about me
  • I’m an awful person for not feeling happy and joyful
  • I’m worried other services will be called if I reach out for help
  • I’m worried that my friends and family will judge me
  • I’m worried that I’m just not a good parent

If any of this sounds familiar to you then know you’ve come to the right place. There is no judgement here. You are safe and in the caring hands of ELFT.
